With his accomplices, the bandit 'Vee' Duncan devastates an Apache village. Joe is the only survivor of the bloodbath and vows relentless revenge on Duncan. He hunts down the desperadoes. When the men rob a train carrying a shipment of money, Joe surprises Duncan's guards and hijacks the wagons to Esperanza. He can expect no support from the residents, who fear Duncan's attack. So Joe sets out alone on the dangerous mission and demands a bounty from the residents.
