Herbert Heller, now a 74‑year‑old American, has long hidden his childhood Holocaust experience even from his family. When he meets Abbey, a troubled teenager, he decides it is time to confront his secret. As the two open up to one another, we are transported back to Herbert’s youth in Prague and his survival through Auschwitz, juxtaposed with Abbey’s own trauma and pain. Their unlikely bond becomes a journey of healing, empathy and mutual understanding, as each helps the other find the courage to speak what had been suppressed for decades. Through shared stories, they discover redemption, empathy, and the possibility of connection across generations.
