Part 1: Just before the takeoff of Flight 180, which is to take a school class to Paris, Alex Browning has a vision of the plane exploding. Panicking, he tries to convince the passengers to leave the plane. Only five classmates and a teacher follow him and witness the plane actually bursting into flames shortly afterwards. But that's only the beginning of the horror, because by jumping from the brink of death, they have messed up its system. And whoever Death wants to take to himself, he is nowhere safe... Part 2: Eight people narrowly survive a catastrophic freeway pileup. The premonition of a young woman protects them from the cruel end. From then on, Death himself sets about restoring the balance and thinks up all kinds of accidents to spectacularly accelerate the demise of those who got away.
