The year is 1840: from a fort in the Florida jungle, enemy Indians from the Seminole tribe are supplied with guns by arms smugglers. Lieutenant Tufts and Captain Quincy Wyatt set off on a long march with forty men to stop this. The attack, planned under cover of night, succeeds. They are able to free the hostages held there, including Judy, and blow up the fort. But the way back proves to be a challenge, as some Indians cut them off and force the troop to take a grueling and dangerous detour through the Florida swamps...
