In 1912, somewhere between Texas and Mexico, the Mexican bandit Cordoba captures six cannons in Texas that were intended for the US Army. Captain Douglas is given the task of pursuing the bandit and destroying the cannons. To carry out the plan, he wants to exploit Cordoba's weakness for beautiful women and asks Leonora, who also has a score to settle with the bandit, for help.
A revolutionary western routinely directed by Paul Wendkos, based on a book by Stephen Kandel. With an excellent soundtrack with Mexican elements by Elmer Bernstein and great shots of the Spanish countryside by Antonio Macasoli, who previously filmed "Revenge of the Magnificent Seven". A-Team star George Peppard plays his best western role here, western veteran John Russell takes on the role of the historical character John J. Pershing and numerous Italian western veterans such as Aldo Sambrell can also be seen. Giovanna Ralli is very pretty as Leonara, who already played a similar role in "Mercenario, the Dreaded One".
