Academy Award Winner Al Pacino stas in this Depression-era tale.
It's a stifling hot summer's day in South Philadelphia and Grandpa (Pacino) has decided that this day will be his last. His grandson Gennaro, however, has more pressing concerns on his mind: today's the opening of the La Paloma, a grand new cinema, and he needs twenty-five cents to attend the first show.
As Gennaro struggles to raise the two bits needed for admission, Grandpa comes up with a way of earning the money which takes the two on a journey of self-discovery and reconciliation.
