1970's comedy thriller starring Richard Dreyfuss. Private investigator and former student radical Moses Wine (Dreyfuss) is contacted by his ex-girlfriend Lila Shea (Susan Anspach) who enlists his help to investigate a smear campaign against her boss, who is running to be elected Governor of California. His investigation leads Moses to uncover a dangerous plot involving former Berkeley radical Howard Eppis (F. Murray Abraham) and an attempt to fix the upcoming election.
