For more than forty years The Temptations have been wooing audiences around the Globe and selling millions of records in the process.
The Temptations were formed in the early sixties and became a key part of Berry Gordy’s legendary record label Tamla Motown. They scored their first hit in 1964 with “The Way You Do The Things You Do”, penned by the inimitable Smokey Robinson. Hit after hit followed, including the never to be forgotten “My Girl” – a worldwide number one in 1965.
The Temptations always stayed in tune with current musical taste and their stylish dress sense and smooth choreography spawned a “Temptation Walk” craze in America.
The group was to be launch pad for many solo careers such as David Ruffin and Eddie Kendricks.
Despite many changes in the line-up The Temptations just go on and performing to enthusiastic audiences throughout the world, with the only original member of the group, Otis Williams, still leading the sophisticated dance routines and delivering those wonderful sounds that are uniquely “The Tempations”.
