Small time crooks Doc, Thirty-Two and Blade are in desperate straits. When a hold-up goes wrong the police are on their tail and only taking a woman hostage allows them to escape with their lives. On the run and becoming more unhinged with every passing mile they take their hostage on a nightmare drive into the heart of darkness. Unfolding at a breathless pace in real time, a device seen only rarely in earlier films such as High Noon and 12 Angry Men and unheard of in Italian cinema at the time, Rabid Dogs is a tense and brutal crime thriller that grabs the viewer by the throat and doesn’t let go until it’s dizzying finale.
