Jerry Lee Lewis is arguably a legend in his own lifetime, because he possesses a talent that knows no boundaries in the world of popular music. Born in Louisiana in the year of 1935 to a musical family, it was inevitable that his direction in life would be as a performer – but what a performer he turned out to be! When he was eight, his parents had saved enough to buy his first piano, an instrument he still has to this day. That gift proved to be the beginning of a truly memorable career with such musical diversity it no only won him the plaudits of peers such as Tom Jones, Phil and Don Everly and Kris Kristofferson, but also captured the listening minds of a legion of followers. So massive was his audience that within a year of joining Sun Records, which was responsible for kick starting his career, he had sold more records in that period than any other artist in their history – including the mighty Elvis!
“Inside and Out” also includes the indisputable talents of Little Richard and Boxcar Willie in this recording, performing the all time greats “Great Balls of Fire” and “Tutti Frutti” in what is an experience to savour.
