Travel through 5 million, 100 million, up to 200 million years in the future encountering fantastic new creatures inhabiting worlds very different from our own today.
WATERLAND
Its 100 million years in the future, and what was once the Bay of Bengal is now a vast near brackish swamp. It is close to the equator and sheltered by surrounding mountains so the climate is hot with average temperatures of 40 degrees C. These murky waters provide a home to a host of dangerous creatures. Possibly the most dangerous is the lurkfish. This 13 feet long sophisticated ambush hunter is capable of generating an electrical charge of over 1000 volts that stuns even the largest prey.
FLOODED WORLD
Its 100 million years in the future and sea levels have risen by up to 100 metres, low lying land is flooded and huge expanses of shallow sea cover most of the continents. And for the first time, sea plants have enlisted animals to help them reproduce in much the same way that flowers and insects have interacted for millions of years. The animals are reef gliders, descendents of sea slugs. Like their ancestors they are brightly coloured but have now grown to the size of seals and slowly cruise the world’s oceans with their long gills trailing behind them like a bird of paradise tail.
