Travel through 5 million, 100 million, up to 200 million years in the future encountering fantastick new creatures inhabiting worlds very different from our own today. TROPICAL ANTARCTICA The vast continent of Antarctica, a frozen wasteland that seemed completely devoid of life, has travelled north, carried by the movements of the plate tectonics. 100 million years in the future, it now lies in warm waters. The northern region of Antarctica is covered in dense tropical rainforest, similar in size and diversity to the Amazon Rainforest during the Human Era. This episode features a new family of birds, called flutter birds. These are a group of small, agile forest specialists, mainly feeding on insects. THE GREAT PLATEAU Its a hundred million years in the future, and Australia has moved north and collided with Asia and North America. Land between the two landmasses has been compressed and thrust up into a massive mountain chain. At 30,000 feet the air is thin and the climate harsh, but there is a seasonal bounty. Immense spider webs span the gorges, and many seeds get trapped there. They are harvested by silver spiders, large metallic looking spiders that live in a community. They collect the seeds to feed the poggles. These small rodents are the very last remaining species mammals.
