Travel through 5 million, 100 million, up to 200 million years in the future encountering fantastic new creatures inhabiting worlds very different from our own today. THE ENDLESS DESERT Its 200 million years in the future and the forces of plate tectonics have brought all the continents together. Every area of land on earth is fused, united to form a single, super-continent. In the centre of the continent is a huge desert, with temperatures ranging from over +50 degrees C in summer to -30 degrees in winter: Above ground the landscape is dotted with mounts, six feet high towers that are home to terabytes. These are a new species of termites that have taken control of their environment in order to endure the harsh conditions of this desert. THE GLOBAL OCEAN Its 200 million years in the future, and the planet is dominated by a single, giant landmass. One continent means one ocean – the Global Ocean. A mass extinction event 100 million years previously devastated life in the sea. One species of fish survived the mass extinction by evolving something very different. Flish are flying animals that have evolved true flight, directly from a swimming form. There are many species of flish, but the most common is the ocean flish, which preys on shoals of silverswimmers, plucking them from the surface waters.
