Produced and narrated by ROBERT REDFORD, this documentary focuses on the trial and imprisonment of Native American activist Leonard Peltier, following the killing on June 6th, 1975 of two FBI agents on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, near Oglala, SD.
The meticulous documentary clearly shows the mockery made by the U.S. and points out to conflicting evidence in the case. The director suggests Leonard Peltier might have been an innocent victim of the Pine Ridge killings.
MICHAEL APTED (COAL MINER’S DAUGHTER, 42 UP) who directed this documentary with considerable skills, dealt with the same subject matter in his narrative film THUNDERHEART, starring VAL KILMER.
